That portion of wire is 20 gauge, the most common gauge for ear lobe piercings. Then, it goes to a thicker hallowed out 18 gauge wire. These hoops are so light weight, you may even forget that you’re wearing them! The attached bead or ball measures to 5 millimeters. This endless hoop is clasped and closed once you poke it through your piercing and into the opposing hallow side of the earring. Simply gorgeous and so very versatile.
